GROQ ACCEPTABLE USE & RESPONSIBLE AI POLICY

This Acceptable Use & Responsible AI Policy applies to a Customer’s use of Groq’s Cloud Services and AI Model Services and describes Groq’s policies and guidelines for the responsible use of these services. Capitalized terms have the meaning stated in the Groq Services Agreement or the applicable agreement between Groq and Customer.
Customer agrees not to, and not to facilitate or allow any third parties to, use the Cloud Services and AI Model Services:
- beyond published parameters, rate limits, or use limitations, including by registering multiple accounts or orchestrating usage between multiple organizations;
- for any illegal, offensive, invasive, discriminatory, dangerous, harmful, infringing, defamatory, or fraudulent purpose;
- for any misrepresentation, misinformation, disinformation, or any misleading or deceptive activities;
- to violate or encourage violation of the legal rights of others, including privacy or intellectual property rights;
- for child sexual abuse or exploitation, violence, violent extremism or terrorism, hate speech, harassment, or non-consensual intimate imagery or sexually explicit content that is illegal;
- to gain unauthorized access to, attack, abuse, interfere with, intercept, disrupt, or exploit any users, systems, or services, including any offensive cyber operations or automated vulnerability discovery and exploitation;
- to harass, harm, or encourage the harm of individuals or specific groups;
- to make automated decisions that have a material detrimental impact on individual rights without human supervision in high-risk domains, such as in employment, healthcare, finance, legal, housing, insurance, or social welfare;
- to perform a lethal function in a weapon without human authorization or control;
- for phishing, generating, or distributing malware such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or spyware or other items of a destructive or deceptive nature;
- to generate, distribute, publish, or facilitate unsolicited mass email, promotions, advertisements, or other solicitations;
- in a manner that burdens, disables, impairs, or interferes with the Cloud Services or AI Model Services or the equipment used to provide the Cloud Services or AI Model Services; or
- to intentionally circumvent any aspect of the Cloud Services or AI Model Services, including abuse protections or safety mechanisms, if any, or to prompt models to act in a manner that violates our policies, this AUP, or the Groq Services Agreement.
Customers who have implemented adequate safeguards and require additional flexibility for lawful business or research purposes, may contact Groq to request an exception. If Groq makes an exception to these policies in a particular case, such action does not obligate Groq to make an exception to these policies in any other similar or unrelated cases.
Customer agrees to provide information about intended uses of the Cloud Services and AI Model Services and compliance with this policy upon request from Groq. Groq may investigate and enforce any suspected violation of this policy.
Customer and its Authorized Users are responsible for all decisions made, advice given, actions taken, and failures to take action based on the use of the Cloud Services and AI Model Services. AI Model Services use artificial intelligence and machine learning models that generate outputs, which may be inaccurate. Outputs should be evaluated for accuracy and appropriateness. If you use the AI Model Services to make consequential decisions, you must evaluate the potential risks of your use case and implement appropriate human oversight, testing, and other use case-specific safeguards to mitigate such risks. Customer is responsible for compliance with any laws, rules, and regulations applicable to its use of the Cloud Services and AI Model Services, including laws specific to artificial intelligence such as the EU AI Act.
